The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban S. K Bagbin, has challenged Ewes in the diaspora to leverage their cultural network not only as a bridge for unity and cultural preservation but also as an economic and investment bridge to create opportunities and improve the lives of Ghanaians back home.

He said the Ewe diaspora community must move beyond simply sending remittances home and focus on creating sustainable wealth and businesses in Ghana. “You have shown that culture should not only bring people together to celebrate. Culture can bring people together to develop,” he said. He made the call while serving as Special Guest of Honour at celebrations marking 33 years of the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA) in Washington, DC.
