The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Iddisah Yeboah Seidu, has extended a helping hand to the Bole District Education Directorate with the donation of sports equipment.
The donation ceremony took place on Saturday, September 20, 2026, in Bole in the Savannah Region.
The items donated include 10 sets of football jerseys, three footballs and two volleyballs for schools in the district.
According to Mr. Seidu, the gesture was in response to an appeal made by the Directorate to his office for support to promote sports in basic schools.
He said sports play a crucial role in the physical and mental development of children, and must be encouraged at the basic level.
Mr. Seidu noted that many schools in the district lack basic sporting equipment, a situation that affects effective teaching of physical education.
He expressed hope that the donation will help revive inter-schools sports competitions in the Bole District.
The items were received on behalf of the Directorate by the District Director of Education, Mr. Richard Achinani Sepaga, and the District Head of Supervision, Mr. Jamani Bakari.
Mr. Achinani Sepaga, on behalf of the Directorate, expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Iddisah Yeboah Seidu for the kind gesture.
He described the donation as timely, especially as the district prepares for its upcoming inter-schools sports festival.
He further appealed to other benevolent individuals and organizations to emulate the example of the DVLA Deputy CEO to support education in the district.
He assured that the equipment will be fairly distributed to schools and put to good use to boost sports development in Bole.
