Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso, H.E. Kenneth Akibate, has pledged scholarships, school kits and exercise books to support children from disadvantaged backgrounds under the Ka Cora Educational Foundation initiative.
The Ambassador made the pledge on Friday, September 11, 2026, when he participated as Special Guest of Honour at the 2nd Edition of the Ka Cora Educational Foundation programme, reaffirming his commitment to expanding access to education and strengthening social cohesion between Ghana and Burkina Faso.
Under the initiative, Ambassador Akibate pledged to provide scholarships for beneficiary children, as well as school kits and exercise books from Ghana for distribution to the Foundation’s beneficiaries.
He also pledged to facilitate opportunities for the Foundation to partner with a Ghanaian non-governmental organisation (NGO) with similar objectives, creating a platform for collaboration on initiatives that promote the common good of children in both countries.
The event brought together traditional rulers, musicians and traditional dancers from Ghana and Burkina Faso, whose performances showcased the rich cultural heritage shared by the two countries.
The cultural displays further underscored the growing cooperation and people-to-people ties between Ghana and Burkina Faso, while highlighting the role of education and cultural exchange in fostering stronger relations. Founded in 2025, the Ka Cora Educational Foundation is a Burkinabè-based educational initiative currently sponsoring 215 children, with plans to expand its support to 1,000 children in the near future.
