IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY BROTHER AND FRIEND
TINGA WURA ALHAJI SAMSON ABUDU KURABARSO

It is with deep sorrow and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah that I, Hon. Baani Abudu Nelson, pay this tribute to my beloved brother, friend, and royal, Tinga Wura Alhaji Samson Abudu Kurabarso
When I received the news of your passing, I was shattered. Gonjaland has lost a great chief. Ghana has lost a dedicated statesman. And I have lost a brother.
We shared more than a surname, Tinga Wura. We shared brotherhood, we shared a common heritage, and we shared a commitment to serve our people.
As a Chief, you were the embodiment of what a true Gonja Chief should be. You were Tinga Wura in title and in character – dignified, wise, peaceful, and fatherly. You protected our customs and you united your people. You never used your stool to divide, but to build bridges.
As a Public Servant, your record is unmatched and will be difficult to equal. You served Ghana at every level:
As District Chief Executive (DCE), you understood grassroots development and you brought government closer to the people.
As Director of the National Health Insurance Scheme for the Eastern Region, you ensured that the poor and vulnerable could access healthcare with dignity. Many families in the East will remember you for that kindness.
And as a Member of the Council of State, you reached the pinnacle of statesmanship. That the President and the nation chose you to be among the wise men to advise the Republic is a testament to your integrity, your experience, and the trust reposed in you. You served in that high office with honour until your last breath.
You were a rare breed, Tinga Wura. In politics, you were honest. In chieftaincy, you were humble. In friendship, you were loyal. You never allowed position to change your humanity.
On a personal note, you were always there. As my kinsman and brother, you always had words of encouragement, counsel, and support. Your doors were always open to me. That brotherly love is what I will miss the most.
Your death has created a huge vacuum not only in Tinga Traditional Area, but in the entire Gonja Kingdom, the Eastern Region, and the Council of State. But we are comforted that you lived a life of service, a life worthy of emulation.
To the wife, children, and the late entire YagbonWura Kurabarso family, I extend my deepest condolences. To the Chiefs and people of Tinga, I say: May we be strengthened.
May Allah (SWT) forgive your shortcomings, grant you Jannatul Firdaus, and may your gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
