Accra, August 25, 2026 : The newly elected Upper West Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have paid a courtesy call on the party’s 2028 flagbearer, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in Accra.
The visit, held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, marked the executives’ maiden official engagement following their election at the party’s regional elections in Wa on Saturday, August 15.
The delegation was led by Regional Chairman, Alhaji Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Rahman, popularly known as Alhaji White, and included First Vice Regional Chairman, Majeed Limann; Second Vice Chairman, Philip Yaw Braimah; Regional Secretary, Dr. Daniel Tanko Dawda; Assistant Secretary, Yussif Alhassan; Treasurer, Alhaji Suleman Alhassan; Regional Organiser, Mohammed Hamid Saana; Youth Organiser, Doodo Sadat; and Nasara Organiser, Mohammed Muniru Ali.

The meeting brought together the newly elected regional leadership and senior figures within the NPP, signalling an early effort to strengthen coordination between the regional party structure and the office of the party’s 2028 presidential candidate.
Dr. Bawumia received the delegation alongside former Majority Leader and Chief of Staff to the Office of the Flagbearer, Hon. Kyei Mensah-Bonsu; Chairman of the Organisation Committee, Hon. Anthony Abayifaa Karbo; Hon. Dominic Nitiwul; Hon. S.S. Saeed; Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah; Alhaji Sumaila; and Mr. Kofi Tonto.
The engagement was held behind closed doors, and details of the discussions were not immediately made public.

The courtesy call comes at a significant moment for the NPP as the party begins preparations towards the 2028 general elections, with its newly constituted regional leadership expected to play a critical role in rebuilding and strengthening the party’s structures in the Upper West Region. For the Upper West executives, the visit also provides an early opportunity to establish a working relationship with the national campaign leadership as they assume responsibility for steering the party’s affairs in the region.
