The Xavi D/A Junior High School (JHS) is in a deplorable state and begging for urgent stakeholder-attention.

The community-led school has not seen the renovation for 20 years; the school sometimes had to close when it was raining because the doors and the windows and the desks were broken, besides the building leaked and the pupils ran shift with goats.

But the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Hon. Bernard Ahaiafor and the District Chief Executive, (DCE) Hon. Leo-Nelson Adidogah had so far failed to attend to the school.

Xavi is a community in the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region.

According to the chiefs, the DCE had given them a broken promise to build three unit-classroom-block.

Speaking to this platform, the chiefs had lamented at the current state of the school.

One of the opinion leaders, Zikpuitor George Agbavor, who is a pioneer of the school stated that the community had never received any government support.

“I can state categorically that the school since its establishment has never received any support from the Government. The DCE came to promise a new three unit-classroom-block, but we have never seen any effort so far,” George said.

He further regretted at the library because it had not been put to use both the teachers and the pupils.

Meanwhile, the library was built by an indigene of the community, Lovely Horgli Hugo a businessman in memory of his late mother, Madam Abla Horgli.
