The Bimbilla EP College of Education in the Northern Region is to hold the third congregation on Saturday. (May 11, 2019)

Some 2773 graduates are expected to take part. The Principal of the College, Ibrahim James Gurwdow M-Minibo said.

But, the last time the 57 years-old College witnessed a similar event was in 2013/2014 academic year under its former principal.

The principal said the number of graduates to take part in this years’ graduation ceremony had accumulated from six different batches.

When asked, he said he had attached importance to the ceremony because it would promote the college and woo donor support for the school.

He said some two individuals would receive “special awards” on the occasion for their contributions to the development of the college.

The program themed “united we move the EP College to the highest level” is expected to be graced by the Regent of the Nanumba Traditional Area, His Royal Highness Nyelinboligu Naa Yakubu Andani Dasana; the Northern Regional Minister, the Executive Secretary, National Council for Tertiary Education and the Representatives of the University of Cape Coast.

The principal said the college needed a 2000-seater capacity lecture theatre and an auditorium of the same capacity.

The rest of the challenges plaguing the college include inadequate roads, student-hostel, staff bungalows and  a fence wall.

“The access roads, lecture theatre, students hostel together with auditorium and completion of the fence wall, renovation of the staff bungalows and improvement in the supply of water are very dear to my heart” the priniciapl stressed.

He said he was building a website for the College, and also trying to complete the construction of the administration block.

He had mechanised a borehole for the college and he called on the Assembly to assist with more.
