MCE cuts sod for the commencement of health center.
Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh , MCE for Lower Manya Krobo Municipality has officially cut sod for construction of a health facility at Wawase in the middle belt of the Municipality in the Eastern region.
He noted that, community development is very key in every developing country and as part of the sustainable development goal, there is the need to work within the limited resources available in developing the vicinity with a health facility to help improve quality health care delivery.
Residents in Wawase Community with their leadership acknowledged the MCE for the innovative initiative taken in improving infrastructure development in the area, they express that as part of their responsibilities as citizens of mother Ghana, all efforts will be put in place to maintain the facility.
Mr. Tetteh in his speech after the sod cutting ceremony assured the people of putting much commitment to transform the rural communities in the middle belt of his Municipality into an urban settlement by the end of his term in office.
He expressed that the Community should take responsibilities in maintaining the current solar powered mechanised borehole with Overhead Poly tank, Rural electrification project and now a modern health facility to help ensure proper sanitation around such facilities and the community as a whole.
The municipal assembly in collaboration with an NGO have constructed a health center and KG block in Oborpah Djikiti in the Lower Manya Krobo vicinity.
The assembly have assured residents of more projects to commence within no time and that they will not bit more than they can chew nor cut their coat beyond their cloth.
The assembly noted that to have quality service rendered from monies generated in the locality, all projects will be duly monitored under the Ghana Strengthening and Accountability Mechanisms (GSAM) in order to help facilitate and develop the Municipality.
They are therefore urging everyone to play a watchdog role to help ensure proper accountability and transparency in developing the area.
The MCE stress that agriculture is the backbone of every developing country and therefore encouraging each and everyone to put in much effort to equip the agric sector.
He donated Twelve thousand Ghana cedis (Gh¢12,000) to help improve the agric sector as well as supply famers with organic fertilizer from the ministry of food and agriculture, under the planting for food and jobs program,such that they could have good yields and bumper harvest in the area.
He express that a community can only develop if there is absolute peace and unity in the area but when insults are added to injury, the said community will not attain it’s aim and for that matter everyone should hold their horses for better infrastructure development, he stress.
