The chief of Fise in Accra has advised his colleague-chiefs to be relevant to the National Development.
Chief Alhaji Bukari Hamidu Kabore made the remarks on the occasion of his tenth-anniversary celebration, today. (April 18, 2019)
When asked, the business-minded chief said for “certain things” some chief were indulging, the chieftaincy institution had become gullible and its impact in national development lessening. “We should command respect from the politicians; most chiefs do not like to work and rather relying on monies meant for community development.” He stressed.
Fise is a cosmopolitan community at Amasaman in the Ga-West Municipal Assembly of the Greater Accra.
According to the chief, he had achieved a lot for his people, mentioning some including; a mosque, a playground, a Junior High school, (JHS) payment of school fees for some needy students as well as helping others to access employment opportunities.
Also, he said he was to do more for his people; such as the expansion of the mosque, and the JHS into a senior high school as well and establishing a radio station for the propagation of the Islamic faith.
When asked further, the industrious chief stated that his values in life were; “honesty,” “truth” and “patience” and that the youth should emulate such in order to live impactful lives both for themselves and their communities.
The chief expressed deep joy on the occasion, adding: “I feel great.”
He commended his people, noting that “my people know what they are about and so I do not encounter any problem from them.”
