“Change,” former USA President Barrack Obama ever said “is the name of the retail industry game—rapid, relentless, unforgiving change. And that makes “change management” another name for retail survival. And yet the only thing that people working in the retail industry (or anywhere) seem to fear more than failure is change.”
Interestingly, Nutanix Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) is real topnotch with a global reputation, yet with “change as a difficult” denominator for organizations and individuals many behave like “sitting ducks waiting to be burnt” even as the International IT Company introduces its golden products and services to the West and Central Africa markets.
“Hyper-converged infrastructure is a software-defined solution that simplifies the deployment and management of data center resources. The core of hyper-convergence is all-in-one compute, storage, and networking for flexible scaling. Hyper-converged infrastructure is also the key ingredient and foundation of building an enterprise cloud capable of providing the agility of the public cloud with the security and control of on-prem infrastructure.”
Speaking in a breakfast meeting in Accra, the System Engineer for East, West and Central Africa, Akwasi Kwarteng Adjei said the market across the region looked positive for the products and services,
It is obvious that high cost, reduction in power, cooling space and enhancements in IT systems have become the real needs of industry players.
To these, Mr. Akwasi noted some of the benefits of using NUTANIX Software as follow: low and flexible costs between 20% and 40% reduction in overall CapEx and Opex, limitless scalability, gives the fastest Time-to-Value which is eight times faster time to value in buying, deploying and managing.
“It also guarantees the smallest footprint of up to 90% reduction in power, cooling and space, with a 2U form factor and gives more time for IT Innovation as the free up IT resources will help users to focus on important initiatives and innovation,” he said.
Akwasi Kwarteng Adjei also averred that Nutanix Enterprise Cloud delivers one-click simplicity in managing multi-cloud deployments, pointing out that application mobility can be achieved across clouds while remaining open to any hardware, hypervisor or cloud.
“Nutanix one-click upgrades reduce both complexity and risk involved with the upgrade process – there is no complex interoperability matrix or operational guidelines. Nutanix also simplifies the flash-based architecture by eliminating LUNs and their presentation by focusing on VMs rather than on storage constructs, and by including both centralized management and capacity planning. Nutanix gives the computer direct access to the storage. Servicing requests with limited overhead and consistently low latency enable mixing of workloads; and with Nutanix Acropolis Block Services, Nutanix becomes the storage backplane for bringing together different types of applications. Customers can even consolidate both physical workloads and virtualized workloads in the same cluster,” he assured.
The company’s Sales Director for East, West and Central Africa, Rowen Grierson who was speaking at the company’s maiden breakfast briefing meeting in Accra, which was attended by some key customers and partners, assured that them that Nutanix products and services could be compared to none in terms of quality and durability.
“Nutanix gives its customers the freedom of choice. So, I urge you all to go for Nutanix products and services. The difference is that with Nutanix, we allow you to start small and take advantage of the public cloud system benefits that people normally get to your business,” he said.
He explained that the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform reduced the technical skills and labor needed to run, maintain and develop data storage, and added that Nutanix Enterprise Cloud combines the agility and simplicity of the public cloud, with the security and control one needs in a private cloud.
It is built on the industry’s leading hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) technology which integrates compute, storage, virtualization and networking in a full-stack solution that runs nearly any application.
Rowen Grierson during his presentation indicated that Nutanix is the only service provider that delivers a single software OS that runs across clouds, making the boundaries between private, public and distributed clouds invisible.
As the hyper-converged market develops, container support, more flexible pricing schemes and other enhancements come to the enterprise.
“Nutanix solutions combine web-scale engineering with consumer-grade management to power any workload in multi-cloud environments,” he added, saying that “The Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform simplifies infrastructure management so you can focus on delivering business value and innovation. Integrated data protection, non-disruptive upgrades, and self-healing systems ensure predictable performance, reliable disaster recovery, and efficient operations at lower cost. Get the power of One OS, One Click.”
He also urged customers to consider using Nutanix as it is uniquely built using web-scale technologies and architectures.
Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Converges server, storage, virtualization, and networking into one software-defined platform.
The Enterprise Cloud Platform is scalable, and it’s available as a turnkey appliance or a software-only platform.
Nutanix Calm is also part of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform that handles application automation and lifecycle management across public and private clouds.
The Xi Cloud Services is an extension of the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform. Xi Cloud Services deliver a public cloud environment that can be automatically configured and provisioned.
NUTANIX also runs other services including the Xi Disaster Recovery Service, the Nutanix X-Ray, Nutanix Acropolis software, and Nutanix Prism software uses machine learning technology to help manage, monitor and analyze the vendor’s hyper-converged infrastructure.
