My brothers and sisters, it with a sense of pride that I congratulate you on a very successful Regional election of a new generation of men and women who will determine the destiny of our great party, the NDC, I am reminder of this profound African proverb ‘if we stand tall today, it is because we stand on the shoulders of many ancestors’ To our immediate past regional executives, especially those who contested and did not make it. I say Ayeeko, God bless you for service to date and your desire to continue working for the benefit of our party. To other contestants who fell short of the mark, I salute your magnanimity in defeat and your contribution to collective effort to deepen our democracy.

The victors, I say congratulation on your election, our great party has chosen you above others and as such repose its confidence, hope, prosperity, destiny into your hands, heart and minds. The victory we crave in 2020 will greatly depend on your leadership from this point and I have no doubt in mind that you are able to deliver our aspirations.

To our dear delegates, I say thank you for weighing, measuring and coming up with the best possible. Once again you have proven that you can be the trusted with most important decisions in our party. Thank you!

To the rest of us who participated in these elections as supporters and sympathisers, organisers and facilitators, it is the time to be collaborators. Let us see these elections as a fresh start in our journey to victory in 2020. Let us remember that ‘Milk and honey have different colours but they  share the same house peacefully’ Our diversity makes the fabric of our party stronger; our differences in opinion makes our conversations and decisions more inclusive and richer. Let us be at our most tolerant when others disagree with us and most sympathetic and empathetic when we are right for these are the hallmarks of unity in diversity.

With these we shall surely overcome and we shall surely win! God bless you God bless our party and God bless Ghana!

Thank you.
